How to Assign Parent- Child Relationships to Existing Premises

How to Assign Parent- Child Relationships to Existing Premises

HOW TO ASSIGN PARENT - CHILD RELATIONSHIPS TO EXISTING PREMISES

NOTE: ALL Parent/Child Assignments are done by assigning the CHILD PREMISES to the PARENT PREMISES.

Benefit of using the Parent/Child classification- If there is a strip mall that has a multiple suites but the main panel of the system is located in one, this would be a good example to use the parent/child assignment. STE 1 (Parent) would house the fire alarm profile that covers all of the corresponding suites.
STE 2 (Child) would house any additional systems that are tracked (i.e fire extinguishers, hood systems etc). The fire alarm profile will only need to be uploaded into the Parent and would not be captured under the child.

Step 1: Click on the Premises icon:

Step 2: Select the bolded address that is the CHILD you want to assign a PARENT.

Upon clicking on the bolded child address, scroll down until you see the “Parent Premises” row – check to see that it has no parent premise listed. Click “Edit,” to assign a parent.

Step 3: After clicking “Edit,” click “select” in the “Parent Premises” row.

Step 4: Type the address of the parent premises into the “Address” box and the address will populate below. Click on the parent address and proceed to click “Select.”

Step 5The parent premises address will now appear in the correlating row. Click “Update,” to officially create the child/ parent assignment.
